1) What is CV Career?

CV Career is a resume-builder that helps you create, edit, and export professional resumes. It also includes optional features like templates, AI-assisted flows, and a blog with career content.

2) Do I need an account to use the app?

Some pages are public, but to create and save resumes you need an account so your drafts can be stored and linked to you.

3) How do I sign in?

You can sign in using:

  • Email + password
  • Google sign-in
  • LinkedIn sign-in (if enabled)

If sign-in fails, see the troubleshooting questions below.

4) I signed in but got logged out. Why?

This usually happens when:

  • Your authentication token expired
  • Your browser blocked storage/cookies
  • You opened the app in a private/incognito window
  • Your network changed or the session was cleared

Try this:

  • Refresh the page and sign in again
  • Disable strict tracking blockers for this site
  • Try another browser
  • Make sure you are using the production URL (not a local/dev URL)

5) How do I create a resume?

A typical workflow is:

  1. Go to Dashboard
  2. Click Create CV
  3. Fill in your details (experience, education, skills, etc.)
  4. Choose a template
  5. Export to PDF

6) Can I edit a resume after saving it?

Yes. Your resume is saved as a draft. You can reopen it from your dashboard and keep editing.

7) Can I import data from LinkedIn?

If the LinkedIn flow is enabled, you can start the LinkedIn import and follow the steps.
If you get an “invalid state” error, it usually means the login flow expired or the callback URL is misconfigured. Try again, and make sure you are on the correct domain.

8) Are my resumes public?

No. Your resume drafts are private and tied to your account.
Only you (and admins for moderation/support, if needed) can access them.

9) Can I delete my account?

Yes. If you want your account and associated data deleted, contact support@cv-career.de and include:

  • The email address of your account
  • Your request (delete account / delete resume drafts / both)

10) Do you have a free plan?

If a free plan is available, you can create an account and use basic features without paying.
Paid plans (if offered) unlock additional features such as premium exports, advanced tools, or subscription access.

(Exact availability depends on what you configured in your pricing.)

11) How does billing work?

If you subscribe to a paid plan:

  • Payments are handled by Stripe
  • We store only Stripe identifiers and subscription status
  • We do not store full card details

12) Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. You can cancel from your account/billing area (if enabled) or contact support at support@cv-career.de.

13) I can’t upload a cover image for a blog post. What should I do?

Blog cover uploads typically require:

  • A supported format: JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF
  • A file size under the limit (commonly a few MB)

Try compressing the image and uploading again.

14) Why does the blog page show “not found” even though I published the article?

Common causes:

  • The article is not marked as Published
  • The slug is different than expected
  • The frontend cannot reach the API in production due to environment variables / proxy configuration

Quick check:

  • Open the API endpoint for the slug (example): /api/articles/{slug}
  • Confirm isPublished: true
